Reading FC Community Trust is a registered charity and is the community arm of the football club, engaging, developing and educating young people within various community groups within the local Reading and surrounding areas, delivering a range of sessions through 5 main activity pillars - Health, Education, Social Inclusion/Community Cohesion, Sports Participation and Recruitment.
What can Reading FC Community Trust offer?
Fantastic physical activity sessions.....
Boxing/Boxercise sessions - Reading FC Community Trust has 4 Great Britain Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) qualified Boxing tutors, who deliver sessions catered to individual groups needs. All of the sessions are non-contact, but students are taught various technical aspects of Boxing and Boxercise, as well as the importance of fitness, diet and discipline that the sport requires. If delivered over a number of weeks, students can also gain a nationally recognised qualification in Boxing, with 3 levels to complete. All equipment is provided by Reading FC Community Trust, with these sessions proving to be incredibly popular across Berkshire.
Football coaching sessions – Reading FC Community Trust has a number of FA Qualified Football coaches who can deliver sessions within the school curriculum. Sessions can be tailored to group’s specific needs and we have a number of packages we can offer in and outside of the school day.
Disability coaching – Reading FC Community Trust has a specialist disability team who are vastly experienced in offering engaging and interactive sessions for any young person who has an interest in sport. We believe that sport is for all and we are proud of our fully inclusive scheme.
Women’s and Girls’ Football Coaching – Reading FC Community Trust also specialises in women’s and girls’ football, with coaches from our highly respect women’s and girls Centre of Excellence available to deliver football coaching sessions. The nation’s number one female team participation sport has 1.38m playing regularly, and we are keen to encourage even more females to participate.
Hard hitting workshops on......
Anti drugs sessions – Reading FC Community Trust has access to a hard hitting, award winning speaker who can visit your school. Our speaker first tried drugs at the age of about 13 and his addiction led to him losing interest in his schooling, playing truant and committing crime to pay for his habit. He was spending £2,000 a week on drugs and during the next 15 years he became a kidnapped gang leader, was involved in gun crime and the victim of seven knife stabbings, went in and out of prison on more than 15 occasions and nearly lost his leg due to continuous injecting. It is hoped his experiences will deter participants from a life of crime and drugs, with our speaker being fully endorsed by a number of high profile organisations and since May 2009, he has spoken to over 50,000 young people.
Anti Racism Workshops – Reading FC Community Trust aim to educate young people about the causes and consequences of racism and to explore the various forms racism can take. We empower young people to challenge racism in the communities in which they live, providing them with relevant knowledge and information to enable them to do this. We all want young people to develop good relationships and respect the differences between people, regardless of their ethnicity, faith, culture or nationality and these workshops are very popular.
Diet and Nutrition – Reading FC Community Trust offers a range of diet and nutritional workshops that can be tailored to meet the needs of your school. Each workshop has been designed to be delivered in one-hour and all participants are provided with all the information that they may require. Choose from a selection of diet and nutritional health workshops, such as how to balance your diet, football specific diet plans and tips on what to eat to boost your energy levels whilst also reducing stress.
